
Gulfnet (Gulfnet Communications Company) is a subsidiary of United
Networks and is the Data and Internet arm of the company, serving
a wide range of businesses and governmental agencies.
Gulfnet was established immediately after the Liberation of Kuwait
in early 1991. It was authorized by the Government of Kuwait to
provide communications services to the State of Kuwait by the Ministry
of Communications under Decree No. 113/91. Soon after its inception,
Gulfnet, in cooperation with its principals, installed a new Digital
satellite earth station standard-B in Kuwait and installed the associated
switching and control equipment and upgrading of video upgrade for
the satellite stations in Kuwait.
